DWR is holding a 1-hour online live course with 15 minutes for questions. The session provides an overview of water administration & water rights in Colorado. Please RSVP by 3/10 to join on Tuesday, 3/11/2025 at 11:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
The course will cover a brief history of water administration in Colorado and a broad overview of water rights vocabulary, the basics of the prior appropriations system and augmentation plans, the Colorado Water Doctrine, statutory types of groundwater, Water Court, the Ground Water Commission, and Well Permitting & Exemptions.
This introductory course is aimed at water professionals, law students, early law professionals, water rights holders, DWR and other government staff, and the general public. This course does not have any continuing education credits.
