Governor Polis and DNR Director Gibbs announce Jason Ullmann as next Colorado State Engineer & Division of Water Resources Director, on March 21, 2024.  Read more in the Governor's Press Release.

The Division 6 Measurement Rules have been finalized and are effective as of 1/16/2024.  A copy of the final rules and statement of basis and purpose can be found on the Division 6 webpage.

On November 29, 2023, State Engineer Kevin Rein will attend the Colorado River Drought Task Force, Sub-Task Force Meeting in Durango to provide an update on the State Engineer’s current efforts to develop Measurement Rules in Division 7.  Please review the Meeting Agenda for the Colorado River Sub-Task Force Meeting for more details.

The PRT is a collection of people with expertise in the data, design, and analysis used to develop and update the Rio Grande Decision Support System (RGDSS).  This meeting will begin the review for phase 7 of the RGDSS.  See the Full Announcement with Agenda Details and Joining Information

The Division of Water Resources (DWR) will conduct a Zoom-only stakeholder meeting on September 6, 2023, at 6:00 pm to discuss proposed Measurement Rules in Water Division 7, which includes the San Juan, Animas, La Plata, Mancos, Pine, Piedra, McElmo Creek, parts of the Dolores, and other adjoining basins for tributaries exiting Colorado in the southwest part of the state.
