In March of 2021, the Yampa River, and all of its tributaries upstream of its confluence with the Little Snake River to the town of Steamboat Springs, was proposed to be over appropriated. The over appropriation proposal is currently under review by the State Engineer. Please join us to learn more about this proposed designation and what it might mean for you.

DWR released a draft memo for public review to summarize DWR’s understanding of the distinction between an appropriative right of exchange and a Water Exchange Project included in a plan for augmentation.
